The Black Student Alliance (BSA) at Virginia Tech was established in 1978. The Black Student Alliance succeeded the former Human Relations Council, founded in 1968, upholding the same devotion to promoting unity between Black students, the campus community, and the University administration. This is a student-led organization that works to promote a greater understanding of Black culture through educational, collaborative, and/or artistic events and presentations. The Black Student Alliance aligns itself as a social, political, and programming organization, which allows for greater community engagement and inclusion at educational or entertainment events on campus hosted by BSA.
