Background

Scope and content:

The collection consists of a Christmas card commissioned by the Chas. Lawrence and Co.Cigar company (Boston Ma.) to send out to their dealers. On the front there is an attached turkey wishbone accompanying the statement "We wish you A Merry Christmas." On the back of the card, the company remarks at the difficulty of procuring 1,000 wishbones and encourages the recipient to order cigars.

Acquisition information:
This collection was purchased by University Archives and Special Collections in January of 2020.
Processing information:

The processing, arrangement, and description of the Wishbone Christmas Card was completed in November 2025.
