Background

Scope and content:

This collection contains three ledgers from Howard Jones and Company Bank. The largest ledger book has alphabetical tabs that include the names of the accounts they manage. The second largest book has a table of contents on the first pages, putting pages numbers with the accounts, and has alphabetical tabs. The third ledger book has dates ranging from 1844 to 1887 and the account names are listed at the top of the pages. Each book has an inscription on the cover page that reads, "Howard Jones and Co., Montgomery County."
