Background

Scope and content:

This collection largely consists of letters written by Joseph M. Reed to friends and family members during the American Civil War. He gives accounts of his experience. Three pieces in this collection are incomplete, but presumed to be authored by Reed. There are two letters addressed to Reed and signed by a friend, "Jermie Green."

This collection was purchased by Special Collections and University Archives in June 2023.
