This collection contains a letter written by "Jesey", a Union soldier during the American Civil War, to his parents. Jesey acknowledges "sauce shoestrings and paper" that his parents had sent him at the beginning of the letter and goes on to discuss how they were being used. Jesey also discusses the food that he and his fellow soldier were eating. At the end of the letter, Jesey also mentions that he has been battling a "slight cold".
