- Abstract:
- This historical map of Augusta County, Virginia, was compiled from maps, historical records, and traditions by J. R. Hildebrand, who copyrighted the historical map in 1933. Created in 1933, the map includes historical information from 1732-1832. It contains a brief history of the county surrounding the map, and on the map are identified locations for incidents of historical interest. The map is bordered by a list of names of men who, presumably, lived in the county. The bottom left corner contains a map of smaller scale, so one can find Augusta County in the context of the broader eastern seaboard of the United States.
