Scope and content:

This collection contains blank stationary and emtpy enevlopes from the Wells Branch Coal Company located in Philadephia, Pennsylvania. The header has the names of the president, secretary, and treasurer of the company. It also has a stationary watermark stamp in the center of the pages with a design of a crane that reads, "Crane's Japanese Linen, 1892".

Biographical / historical:

The Wells Branch Coal Company was located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The president was William D. Janney, the secretary Daniel Fitler, and the treasurer C. C. Coe. The company mined and shipped splint and cannel coal.

Acquisition information:
This collection was acquired by Special Collections and University Archives prior to 2012.

The processing, arrangement, and description of the Wells Branch Coal Company Stationary was completed in September 2021.
