Background

Scope and content:

The collection consists of three hand drawn cards and one envelope addressed to Franklin L. Moore. All items follow a blue and creme color scheme.

Two of the three cards are cartoons. One involves the "1949 Holliday Drunk" and the other a cart driver with "a Hellova Note." The last of the three is more traditional with its Christmas greetings.

Biographical / historical:

The Stone Printing and Manufacturing Company of Roanoke, Va mailed these cards to its employees during the Christmas of 1949.

Special Collections at Virginia Tech purchased the Stone Printing and Manufacturing Company Christmas Cards in July 2011.
