This collection consists of a Confederate broadside containing General Orders No. 6, issued October 29, 1863, by Major General Sam Jones. It concerns the provision of aid for deserters, be it in the form of purchasing military items from deserters or enticing soldiers to desert. In addition to warning against such assistance or enticement, the orders describe the punishment for those who have engaged in such acts.
