This collection contains three printed, promotional items relating to Japanese sculptor Jiro Okura, his Mountain Lake Screen Tachi project completed at the Mountain Lake Workshop in 1990, and an exhibit of his works at Virginia Tech in 1992. Included is a postcard featuring a Ray Kass photograph of Mountain Lake Screen Tachi, a work consisting of 16 screens of American black walnut and metal foil completed at the Mountain Lake Workshop in 1990. Also included is an article from the summer 1991 issue of New Art Examiner regarding the screen and its exhibition at Roanoke [Virginia] Museum of Fine Art. The collection also includes a flyer promoting the exhibition of Okura's The Shisendo Temple Drawings at Virginia Tech in 1992.
- Biographical / historical:

Jiro Okura, artist and sculptor, was born in 1943. He completed post-graduate studies at Kyoto Kyoiku University in the 1960s. Jiro Okura died in 2014.
