Background

Scope and content:

The collection consist of a typescript copy of a glossary of English-Spanish Nautical Terms, compiled by Henry Stewart.

Biographical / historical:

Henry Stewart graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 1929. He was from East Falls Church, Virginia. He studied chemical engineering. During his senior year, he left the military and joined Phi Kappa Phi and the Capitol Club. He was also a part of the Episcopal Club from 1925 to 1929.

Acquisition information:
The Henry Stewart Papers collection was donated to Special Collections in 1983.
Processing information:

The processing, arrangement, and description of the Henry Stewart Papers was completed in 1983. Additional description was completed in April 2011.
