Background

Scope and content:

The collection contains correspondence, campus pictures, bulletins, and programs collected and compiled by Brauer while a student at VPI. The collection also includes several artifacts: a saber, VPI tie pin, and VPI fountain pen.

Biographical / historical:

Rudolph Carl Brauer was in VPI class of 1915 where he studied mechanical engineering. During his senior year he was made Captain Band, President of Cotillion Club, President of the Senior Prom, Chairman Student Branch A.S.M.E., Science club, and he was the Editor-in-Chief of The Bugle, 1914-1915.

The Rudolph Carl Brauer Memorabilia was acquired prior to 1982.
