The William E. Garnett Papers consist of field notes, surveys, reports, class notes, letters to the editors of Montgomery County, Virginia, newspapers, and reprints of publications.

Biographical / historical:

William E. Garnett was a professor of Rural Sociology (1925-1956) at the Agricultural Experiment Station at Virginia Polytechnic Institute. He helped establish the Virginia Agriculture Conference Board and the Virginia Medical and Health Care Council.

The William E. Garnett Papers collection was acquired by Special Collections prior to 1973.
