Background
- Scope and content:
-
Minutes and related attachments documenting the meetings, activities, discussions, policy decisions, and recommendations of the Virginia Polygraph Examiners Advisory Board. Includes official board minutes, as well as draft minutes and agendas. May also include informal fact finding hearing minutes, correspondence, legislation, regulations and reports.
Electronic records often contain board meeting packets with various attachments and draft minutes, while paper records often include minutes only. There may be some duplication between paper and electronic records. For transfers prior to 2012, records of individual boards were accessioned separately. After this, transfers of records (records starting in 2008) included all boards, which were accessioned under one accession number. There is a separate finding aid for the later transfers (link to finding aid below).
- Biographical / historical:
-
The Polygraph Examiners Advisory Board was established in 1968 to regulate individuals who administer and interpret lie detecting tests. The Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation provides administrative support to the board and the Director of the Department has full governing authority.
