Also includes draft minutes and agendas for Committees including: Bylaws Committee, Executive Committee, Goal Committees, Operations Committee, and State Plan for Independent Living (SPIL) Subcommittees.

The Virginia Statewide Independent Living Council (VASILC) was established in 1994 as required by Section 705 of the Federal Rehabilitation Act. VASILC promotes effective policies, programs and activities that maximize independence for Virginian's with disabilities by: developing, monitoring and reviewing the State Plan for Independent Living; supporting and expanding the state network of Centers for Independent Living; creating a culture for full integration and independence; advocating systems change for full access and equality in community life; educating policy makers and stakeholders about the importance of independent living; and developing a strategy for collaboration among stateholders in the disability community.
