Scope and content:

These records are organized alphabetically by locality. One set of lists contain names of state officers in office on 1 January 1787. Entries for these officials include: Governor, Senators, members of the House of Delegates, Inspectors of Tobacco, Naval officers and Notary Publics.

The second and larger set of lists are also organized alphabetically by locality. They record county officials serving from 1776-1852. Entries for these officials include: Justices, Clerks, Surveyors, Escheators, Coroners etc.

This collection includes a set of copies of dated letters written from Governor Benjamin Harrison to the Speaker of the House of Delegates. These have been copied from the Executive Letter Books.
