Collection contains fishing flies, fishing line, comments, reminiscences, photographs, and other materials contributed by renowned fly fishers to John Bryan and Rob Carter of Richmond, Virginia, for their book America's Favorite Flies, published in 2017. Contributors include Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter, Yvon Chouinard, and Huey Lewis among others. Proceeds from the sale of the volume benefit the James River Association and the Native Fish Society.

John Bryan has written about fishing for Sports Illustrated, Fly Fisherman, and other publications. He has also written books on art; Richmond, Virginia; and fishing, including Take Me Fishing. Rob Carter has written 14 books on typography, book design, and graphic design, including Typographic Design: Form and Communication, considered an influential text in the discipline. He taught at Virginia Commonwealth University.
