- Biographical / historical:

The Virginia Soil and Water Conservation Board was established by the General Assembly to help guide the delivery of soil and water conservation services to citizens of the Commonwealth. Its duties include oversight and support of the soil and water conservation districts of Virginia, oversight and enforcement of non-point source pollution control programs, oversight and enforcement of dam safety and floodplain management programs, and approval of loan criteria for loans from the Dam Safety, Flood Prevention and Protection Assistance Fund.
