Scope and content:

Minutes and related attachments documenting the meetings, activities, discussions, policy decisions, and recommendations of the Virgnia Real Estate Appraiser Board. Includes official board minutes, as well as draft minutes, committee meeting minutes, agendas and other meeting materials. May also include informal fact finding hearing minutes, correspondence, legislation, regulations and reports.

Electronic records often contain board meeting packets with various attachments and draft minutes, while paper records often include minutes only. There may be some duplication between paper and electronic records. For transfers prior to 2012, records of individual boards were accessioned separately. After this, transfers of records (records starting in 2008) included all boards, which were accessioned under one accession number. Biographical / historical:

The nine member Real Estate Appraiser Board was established in 1990. The Board has legislative authority to establish all educational requirements and regulations for the real estate appraiser profession and all enforcement of "standards of professional appraiser" as cited in section 54.1-2013 the code of Virginia. The Real Estate Appraiser Board presently licenses over 3000 individuals and firms. The Boards purpose is to regulate individuals and firms that perform estimates on the value of real estate property. The Board also is responsible for certifying instructors of Real Estate Appraisers profession. The Board requires licensures for the following professional titles; Appraiser Trainee, Licensed Residential Appraiser, Certified Residential Appraiser and Certified General Appraiser.
