Bowling Green Volunteer Fire Company Record Book, 1940-1949. The volume contains an expense ledger for the Bowling Green Volunteer Fire Department, 1940-1942 (includes index); and Bowling Green Volunteer Fire Company minutes, 1947-1949. The minutes include the names of twenty men who formed the company 1947 Aug. 19, and the election of officers 1947 Aug. 22.

Biographical / historical:

Caroline County was named for Caroline of Anspach, consort of George II. It was formed from Essex, King and Queen, and King William Counties in 1728, and additional parts of King and Queen were added later.
