Loudoun County (Va.) Land Grants, 1803 and 1833. Contains a land grant to Jesse Howell, 1833 Nov. 14; and a land grant to Joseph Lane, assignee of Rawleigh Colston, 1803 July 2.

Biographical / historical:

Loudoun County was named for John Campbell, fourth earl of Loudoun, who was commander of British forces in North America during the early part of the French and Indian War and governor of Virginia from 1756 to 1759. It was formed from Fairfax County in 1757.

Acquisition information:
The Robert Alonzo Brock Collection was filmed by The Huntington Library in cooperation with The Library of Virginia with funding provided by The Library of Virginia Foundation with the support of The Roller-Bottimore Foundation and The Robins Foundation. Microfilm received 15 April 2004.
