Henrico County (Va.) plats and surveys, 1813-1842, include a plat and survey (1813) of Little Shadhole island in the James River; a plat and survey (1833) of 86 acres along Three Chopt Road done on behalf of George Franklin and his brother; two plats and surveys (1835, 1842) done on behalf of Edward Cox; plat and survey (1839) of Daniel P. Howle's farm along Three Chopt Road done behalf of Miles H. Gardner; a plat and survey (1840) of 80 acres done on behalf of Warner W. Guy; a plat and survey (1846) of 30 acres done on behalf of John F. Reeve; a plat and survey (1856) of 185 acres in the falls of the James River done on behalf of Charles. S. Morgan; a plat (1853) of John Jordan, Senior's property; plat (1858) of property near the city of Richmond sold for nonpayment of taxes; and a plat (1863) of the farm called Centre Plains that belonged to Thomas B. Carter.

Recognized in 1634 as an original shire. All county court records prior to 1655 and almost all prior to 1677 are missing. Many records were destroyed by British troops during the Revolutionary War. Post–Revolutionary War county court records exist. Almost all circuit superior court of law and chancery and circuit court records were destroyed by fire during the evacuation of Richmond on April 3, 1865, during the Civil War. The county’s circuit court held its sessions at the state courthouse in Richmond.
