Scope and content:

Fayette County (Ky.) copy of land surveys, 1783-1785 found in this collection consist of a copy of surveys of several tracts of land conveyed to Henry Louis Charton. The surveys include miniature plats.

Biographical / historical:

Fayette County was created in 1780 and was one of the three original counties that made up the district of Kentucky. It was named for the Marquis de Lafayette. Fayette County became a part of the state of Kentucky when it was created in June 1792.

Acquisition information:
The Robert Alonzo Brock Collection was filmed by The Huntington Library in cooperation with The Library of Virginia with funding provided by The Library of Virginia Foundation with the support of The Roller- Bottimore Foundation and The Robins Foundation. Microfilm received 15 April 2004.
