Ledger B, 1852-1860, of John James London documents the personal financial activities of London. Biographical / historical:

John James London, 1813-1856, was a member of the Higginbotham family, a prominent mercantilist family in early nineteenth century Virginia. The Higginbotham family operated mercantile businesses in New Glasgow, Amherst, Lynchburg, Richmond and other localities in Virginia. London's mother, Tirzah London, was a Higginbotham. London and his brother Daniel Higginbotham London owned a mercantile business named John James and Daniel Higginbotham London.
