Description:
Dedicated in 1956, the Virginia War Memorial is the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Memorial to those killed from World War II through today. The Memorial honors the fallen through preservation, exhibitions, and educational programming. The VWM Archives supports the Virginia War Memorial through its collections. The archives house over 700 records chronicling the life and service of Virginia veterans through photographs, scrapbooks, letters, and orders that tell the story of U.S. conflicts from World War II to today. Additionally, the VWM Archives houses over 1,000 oral history interviews with Virginians around the Commonwealth.
