Financial papers of Samuel Jacob of Wellsburg, West Virginia. Loose financial documents chiefly include receipts and bills from 1824 to 1921 (bulk 1824-1899). Receipts are for a wide variety of items, including textiles (muslin, calico, and gingham), food (coffee and pepper), and household items (latches, screws, glass, comb, nails, and twine). Materials also include financial documents related to the estate of John Shryer, 1839-1842, and pages from the herd book of F. H. Jacob. Collection also includes two cash account books, 1832-1837 and 1871-1911; an account book that contains charges for dry goods (hay, potatoes, flour, corn, apples, pork, and bacon), room rentals, work records, and short horn cattle records, 1871-1911; a work records ledger noting number of days worked and payment for harvesting, threshing, and corn shucking, 1884-1899; an invoice ledger, 1872-1874; and an undated ledger showing notes and interest.

Seven original paper freight shipping bags printed by S. George Company of Wellsburg, West Virginia. All are 25 lb. flour sacks labeled for the Voigt Milling Company of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Contains a bag for Voigt's Cream Flake Flour with a note on the label "Emergency Quality Milled in accourdance with War Food Order No. 144" (suggesting it was made in the 1940s during World War II), Voigt's Crescent Flour for Bread and Pastry, Voigt's Crescent Brand White Frost Flour, Voigt's Crescent Brand Self-Rising Pancake Flour, Voigt's Crescent Brand White Rose Flour, Carnation Brand Flour, and Carnation Brand Self-Rising Flour.
