Family papers, letters, wills, and deeds of the Chapman Family of Maryland and Virginia.

The collection consists of research materials, clippings and correspondence relating to the Ruebush, Funk, Moon, and Andrews families. The materials were gathered by Bertha A. (Betsy) Curtin as she researched her ancestors.

The collection consists of articles, notes correspondence, clippings, and printed matter written and collected by Mrs. Templeman. A full set (1921- 1994), mostly bound, of the annual reports of the Society of the Lees of Virginia is included. Duplicate copies found in the collection were retained for their value as Mrs. Templeman's working copies and feature marginalia and corrections. Thirty-five positive prints, four negatives and one transparency have been transferred to the Photographic Collection. Most correspondence was retained in the subject areas it was found in rather than being organized separately.

This collection consists of six series: Correspondence, Literary Productions, Printed Material, Financial Documents, Women's Auxiliary of the American Legion, and Green Family. The correspondence series holds letters only to and from Esther Green. Included three folders (Box 73 Folders 1-3) with letters from Robert Rutledge, a youth for whom she helped secure a DuPont scholarship to the University of Virginia. While in college he updated her on his progress. Correspondence to and from other family members is located in the Green Family series. Approximately half of the collection concerns the Green Family. Several folders (Box 73.2 Folders 5-9) deal with an estate for which Richard Green was the executor. The Green Family series also contains genealogical information relating to the Muir, Magyar, and Green families and a few pieces relating to family businesses, Green and Bro. Furniture Co., and the Green Mansion House Hotel.

The collection contains organizational records of the Alexandria Archaeological Commission as well as correspondence with the Smithsonian Institution prior to the 1975 formation of the Alexandria Archaeological Commission. Clippings, research notes and archaeology notes are included as well. Topics include: formation of the Alexandria Archaeology Commission, archaeological digs along King Street, research on the Henry Piercy family, and area merchants.

The collection consists of information on the O'Meara, Lynch, Beach, Gossom, and Voorhees families including many collateral lines. Included is correspondence, notes, copies of documents (birth, death, marriage, deeds, wills, military, etc), articles, obituaries, and other miscellaneous items. All pertaining to the history and genealogy of the aforementioned names.

This collection consists of three series related to the McKnight, Piercy, and Jacobs families. In each series there are sub-series of letters, legal documents, and genealogical materials. Contents also include military records, harbor and ballast master papers, an 1849 inaugural ball invitation, and miniature portraits of William P. McKnight and Margaret Jacobs. McKnight correspondence relates to the Civil War.

The collection consists of four series: house histories, genealogy, publications, and miscellaneous. The collection contains reports, bound volumes, photos, newspaper clippings, pamphlets, and correspondences. The first and largest series is the complete research on various house histories in the Alexandria, Virginia area, most notably in Old Town. The second series of the collection is genealogical research on various families who have roots in Northern Virginia and Alexandria. The two smaller series, publications and miscellaneous, contain various research subjects completed by Ruth Kaye, including other publications from other authors.
