This collection contains a single black-and-white photograph of young men and women formally dressed and posed on the University of Virginia Rotunda steps. The men are likely UVa students and faculty. The photograph is dated about 1896 and has a Holsinger, Charlottesville stamp on the left corner. Scaffolding is in the photograph's background, erected during the Rotunda restoration efforts. The exposed fluted columns of the Rotunda's front facade lack plaster in this scene, a result of the intense heat of the 1895 fire.

James H. Law, Jr. papers (1920-1921; 0.2 cubic feet) include correspondence, notebooks, blueprints, and exams of alumnus James H. Law, Jr. (Architecture, 1925).

This addition to RG 12 University Library includes clippings, university and student magazines about student life, faculty, alumni and UVA athletics, promotional cards and event ephemera about UVA and Special Collections exhibits and dinners, and a file on "Wednesdays in Mississippi" movement with a recording on CD of Dorothy Height at the University of Virginia, and a VHS tape of a Local PBS station's story on Lewis and Clark. The magazines include The Virginia Spectator, Crust Magazine, Libel Magazine, and UVA Athletic News.

This collection contains the college scrapbook of Louise Boyer who attended the School of Education at the Hampton Institute, now Hampton University, in Hampton, Virginia. Hampton Institute, a historically Black college, was founded in 1868 as the Hampton Agricultural and Industrial School by the American Missionary Association for the education of the formerly enslaved. Also included is an earlier collection of one scrapbook titled "Scrapbook of Louise Boyer at Hampton Institute. This scrapbook has more information about Hampton Institute included with Boyer's own scrapbook pages. There are pressed flowers, progams for music events and track meets, autographs, greeting cards, poetry, photographs, and newspaper clippings. There is also a poem dedicated to the memory of Hampton administrator Albert Howe.

This collection contains photographs, personal letters, coursework, notebook, forms and surveys for new students, directory and schedule, and other university specific items of Lu Ann Cates, a 1978 graduate of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Virginia.

This collection contains six class notebooks and a folder of material on the One Less Resource booklet detailing the classes and work of Madeline Shaw a student at the University of Virginia. The notebooks and essays that document her class work related to a variety of topics including the Civil Rights movement, modern political thought, immunology, arts and pop culture, 18th century philosophy, microeconomics, history of the British empire and early American law. Also included is a manual and resource booklet for the One Less an all-female student run organization committed to educating students about sexual and domestic violence and empowering survivors.

This collection contains a photograph of the Nu Charge of Theta Delta Chi fraternity that appeared in the 1928 edition of Corks and Curls. The photograph was taken by Gitchell's Studio, the yearbook photographer at the time. The framing label lists a "Mr. Ruffin," who is thought to be Robert DeJarnette Ruffin, a student in the College at the University of Virginia at the time.

This collection contains University of Virginia clippings, scrapbook pages and ephemera collected by P.J. Beattie Jr, a graduate from the class of 1937. The collection includes two directories spanning the academic years 1935 to 1937 with Beattie's name handwritten at the top of each directory, a program from the University of Virginia graduating exercises dated June 15, 1942, a blue felt pennant flag with the University of Virginia seal, and articles clipped from alumni publications on the University of Virginia including an article on William Lambeth, a physical education faculty member, Easter Week festivities, the beauty of the campus, and the 1940 Virginia football team. Depictions of a student's daily life as well as a description of Jefferson's Serpentine Walls are included in these clippings. In addition are four scrapbook pages from 1936 and 1937 with photographs documenting student life at the University of Virginia. Photographs are captioned with the name of students and staffand events and dates. Of interest is a photograph of Phil Porter, a ragtime musician Albemarle county resident who worked for the was the Chi Phi fraternity houseman and events and dates.
