Letters, photographs, postcards, and business receipts of the Armistead family of Williamsburg, Virginia. Dates range from 1865- 1946 but the bulk of the collection is from 1927- 1929 including most of the letters. Letters were addressed to Dora, Cora, and Mother Armistead and from the same in addition to Cary "Champ" Armistead. The postcards and one letter are from friends of the family. The two photographs in this collection are of Dora Armistead and "mother" (Eudora) Armistead undated and 1942 respectively.

Two diaries, 1907-1908 kept by Claire Lilian Wight (b. 1894) of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Claire Wight was 13 years old when she began her first diary in 1907. Claire records daily activities such as school visits, reading, attending concerts, social and family activities, vacations, taking music lessons and playing tennis and going to the YWCA. Also included are two calling cards, one of Claire's and one of her uncle as well as a newspaper clipping for the "Tennessee Colored Jubilee Singers," whose performance Claire mentions in her diary.

Diary, 1921, written by a young man who lived in or near Fowlerville, Livingston County, Michigan. From entries in the diary it can be concluded that he was a railroad worker who lived with his parents on their farm. In brief daily entries he mentions which work he did on the farm and on the railroad, other chores around the house, the health of is mother, the weather, etc.

Three diaries, 1868-1875, of John Kelley, a minister from Bay City, Michigan. The first volume includes books from the Old Testament and the New Testament of the Bible copied by hand, diary entries for 1868, copies of letters written by Kelley, and drawings of various holy sites in Israel and elsewhere as well as drawings of religious iconography. The second volume includes the same types of entries but also includes a section at the end entitled "Rudiments of the Latin Language." The final volume is also diary, but includes the alphabets of various different languages, such as Greek, Hebrew, Phoenician, and others. Kelley also has lists of "Happy Thoughts" near the end of the third volume.

Minute book of the Ladies' Soldiers' Aid Society of Monroe, Michigan. Includes minutes of the Society, whose purpose was to "furnish such hospital stores as are not known to be furnished by the general government." This would typically involve making packages and shipping them to the hospitals of various armies. Also includes list of members, constitution, and bylaws of the organization. Among the members listed are Elizabeth Bacon, the wife of George Armstrong Custer. She was elected treasurer of the organization on October 20, 1863.

Papers, 1879-1915, of the Olney family of Newaygo County, Michigan. Includes letters to Bert Olney at various addresses in Indiana and Michgan, which relate school incidents and discuss political matters, such as James Garfield's presidency. There are also letters between Bert and Alice Olney and their sons, Albert J. Olney and Clinton Olney. Albert J. and Clinton Olney were both studying agriculture at (what is now) Michigan State University. The letters from their parents discuss family life and work, town events, their sons' academic studies, and book reccomendations, among other topics. Also included is an eight page manuscript of an oration on Frances Willard, the founder of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union. There are also letters from Oral Seipp, a student at Albion College in Michigan, to the two brothers, which discuss college life, fraternities, hazing, student prayer meetings, schoolwork, and other activities. Finally, there are letters addressed to Albert J. Olney and Clinton Olney's sister, Marion Olney, while she is at a hospital recovering from an appendectomy.

Minute book of The Social Club, a women's club of Hillsdale County, Michigan. Includes lists of attendees and the activities for each meeting. Activities often include a song, discussion of a reading, and a discussion topic relating to current events, many of which have to do with World War I.
