The albums house photographs taken during the late 19th century and the very early 20th century of the extended Anderson family. They include photos taken in Rockbridge County and Lexington, Virginia and across the United States during road trips. Several Lexington community members are included in the photographs.

This collection contains a friendship album presented to Miss Margaret Dixon by her friend Samuel M. Templeton, Lexington, October 26, 1846 as written on the first page. There's another handwritten note on the back of the front board that says "Presented to Miss Margaret Dixon by Samuel M. Templeton Lexington, Va. Oct. 22nd 1846." The album was presented to her friends and family to write something to her on an individual page. Some are notes specific to her. Others are poems. Most are signed, initialed, and/or dated.

James M. Campbell diary and account book

The collection contains a diary and account book kept by James M. Campbell. The diary runs the 1860 calendar year and has an entry for almost every day. Pages in the back of the volume served to document accounts payable and accounts receivable for money he spent and money he made as a bricklayer. The content of the diary primarily focuses on daily weather, attending a variety of different churches in Lexington, and the individuals he engaged with, including Martha Shields. According to the 1860 census, Campbell boarded at a hotel operated by the Lindsay family.

Jane McNabb Reid portrait and needlework sampler

This collection consists of a portrait and needlework sampler that belonged to Jane McNabb Reid. The needlework sampler was created by Reid when she was 18 years old in 1840 and includes several alphabets and the following four lines: Teach me to feel another's woe/To hid the fault I see/That mercy I to others show/That mercy show to me. The text is based on a poem by English poet Alexander Pope. The portrait is of an older Jane, likely created in the years preceeding her death in 1889.

The first parade was in 2017. The posters are dated 2017-2022. The design and printing of the 2017-2019 posters was done by Washington and Lee University alumna Amira Hegazi, Class of 2015. The 2022 poster was designed by Gaby Vazquez.
