Lancaster County (Va.) Deeds, Wills and Records, Book numbers 1-2,4, 6-7, 9, 11-19 and 21, 1652-1793, record deeds (deeds of bargain and sale, lease and release and deeds of gift); wills(including the name of testator, list of heirs and year will was proven in court) and records (such as inventories and appraisements, lists of sales of estates, estate accounts, settlements of estates and settlements of administration and guardians' accounts) for Lancaster County. Volumes 13 and 17 contain order books. These volumes also include other record categories, usually found in county court order or minute books, such as apprentice indentures, powers of attorney, sheriffs' bonds, allotments of dower rights, election polls, road orders, selling of property, and orphans'accounts. Unless noted otherwise, volumes contain unnumbered, alphabetical indices.

Marriage Bonds Number 1-5, 1701, 1715-1748, record the bonds of marriage between a bride and groom within the county. These volumes also include marriage consents made by a parent or guardian.

Marriage Register, 1715-1852, is essentially divided into two sections. The first section covering pages 1-220, 1715-1848, records the date of the marriage bond, the names of both parties, the names of the parents or guardian of the wife and the security or witnesses present. The second section covering pages 221-262, 1752-1852, records the date of marriage, the names of both parties, the minister's name and the religious denomination of the minister. The last page of the volume (263) records a Minister's Bond from 1810.
