Diary of a Methodist Protestant Church itinerant minister in northwestern Virginia. The volume contains daily entries from 24 September 1859, through 6 February 1860. Also listed are the churches in his charge to 1868, including Laurel Lick, Harmony, Bethel, Harrisville circuit, Fairview, Sanko, and Middlebourne. Entries from 23 January to February 1860, are made in Washington County, Pennsylvania. On 2 September 1858, McCormick was received into the Western Virginia Conference and was assigned in turn to the Greenbrier, Pocahontas, Lewis, Harrisville, and Tyler circuits.
