Diary of about 100 pages in which Addis records her thoughts and daily activities. Throughout the journal, Addis reports on many books she reads and her impression of them and her interactions with friends, and her career aspirations at a law firm where she works. Addis also writes at length about her feelings and her discovery of her sexual identity as a lesbian. She chronicles her relationship with her neighbor, a married woman named Peg and also other relationships with other women. Addis comments often about her attraction to other women and her desire to have meaningful and enduring relationships with them. Along with the diary is a book, "Dusty Answer" which has been cataloged separately.

61 pages of entries in a bound leather journal of a young American women who traveled to Italy, Switzerland, Austria, France, and England in 1900. She is accompanied by a friend, Sally Smith, Mrs. Reynolds, and a woman named Georgia. Her trip begins in Venice where she is courted by many Italian soldiers, partakes in gondola rides, and enjoys the sights. She then travels to Verona while on her way to Innsbruck, Austria. She also visits Zurich and Geneva, Switzerland. Once she get to Paris, France, she and her company attend the "Exposition Universelle". After visiting London, she heads back home to the states via a steam ship.

The collection contains letters received by Colonel Henry Goddard Thomas, the commander of the U.S. Colored Infantry during the Civil War. The letters were sent to Thomas from two individuals, German immigrants Lewis C. Henser and Rudolph Tensler (Teusler). In his two letters, Hensler outlined news of funding and his town of residence. In his single letter to Thomas, Tensler spoke mostly of family affairs. The letters contain content pertaining to funding, personal and family life, and news of the war.

Hon's diary includes 146 handwritten pages and 7 pages typed via email between June 1994 and January 1996. Hon describes his life while living in California, recording experiences regarding platonic and romantic relationships, drug and alcohol use, international travel to Indonesia and Hong Kong, immigration, HIV/AIDS, and the process of self-discovery. Hon's entries are influenced by his intersectional identity as a gay male Asian immigrant living in the United States. Hon utilizes this diary to process and reflect upon his mental health, particularly when grappling with the impacts of interpersonal relationships upon his sense of well-being. Hon's writing includes his thoughts about love, identity, alcoholism, and drug use. Ephemera in this diary include a business card for "Party Boy Productions of Southern California" and an invitation to a house party in the front sleeve of the diary, as well as two photographs of a frontal view of a naked man in the middle of the diary. The full name of the writer is unknown. For privacy purposes, this item is not eligible for digitization, and photographs are not allowed. Collection of 33 letters which detail the economic issues concerning the effective production on a sugar plantation in Kingston, Jamaica immediately after the abolition of slavery in that country. Included in the correspondence is a period of time referred to as the "apprentice" system which was not a successful endeavor.

Ten letters and seven postcards, 1940-1945 from concentration camp prisoners in Germany. Letters contain the name of the detainee, date of birth, and prisoner number. The majority of the letters were written on official camp stationary which contained the rules and warnings (in German) of what was allowed to be included in correspondence addressed to the detainees.
