Abstract Or Scope

Two printing plates for the front pages of the Charleston Gazette and Charleston Daily Mail on the date of the final editions of those newspapers. The final issues of each newspaper were published 15 July 2015. Starting 20 July 2015, the two newspapers were merged into a single publication, the Charleston Gazette-Mail. The printing plates are thin sheets of metal measuring 12 1/2 in. x 23 1/2 in.

Records of the West Virginia War History Commission and the state, local, and national branches of the Office of Civilian Defense. Material within this collection documents civilian activities on the homefront during World War II in the state of West Virginia. The collection contains correspondence, publications, pamphlets, maps, posters, newspapers and clippings, radio scripts, and other material. The collection also contains 19 reels of microfilm regarding the Monongalia Office of Civil Defense. The collection includes 10 series.
