The Flavia Reed Owen Special Collections and Archives in the McGraw‐Page Library at Randolph‐Macon College houses significant historical and literary collections that include the history of the oldest chartered Methodist college as well as the history of the Methodist church in Virginia; one of the largest collections of Casanova in the world; the local newspaper photo archive and other local history materials; a collection of rare volumes pertaining to the Intellectual Life of the Colonial South; and World War I codebreaking and ciphering materials.

The John Early Papers

Abstract Or Scope

The collection primarily contains information bearing on Randolph-Macon College and the Virginia Conference of the Methodist Church. Diaries cover 1807 to 1813. Correspondence beginning in 1800 includes family and other prominent Methodists (William McKendree and Leonidas Rosser). Methodist materials include General Conference information from 1830, 1836, 1840 and 1844, ordination certificates and sermon notes.

The Carroll LaHaye Collection primarily contains photographs, professional awards, memorabilia, and other materials documenting Carroll LaHaye's coaching career of women's basketball at Randolph-Macon College from the 1980s to 2020. The bulk of materials relate to the 1996 and 2005 basketball championship seasons. A few materials in the collection relate to LaHaye's coaching of women's lacrosse at R-MC, including a lacrosse ball signed by the 1982 team that played in the AIAW National Women's Lacrosse Tournament.
