The Flavia Reed Owen Special Collections and Archives in the McGraw‐Page Library at Randolph‐Macon College houses significant historical and literary collections that include the history of the oldest chartered Methodist college as well as the history of the Methodist church in Virginia; one of the largest collections of Casanova in the world; the local newspaper photo archive and other local history materials; a collection of rare volumes pertaining to the Intellectual Life of the Colonial South; and World War I codebreaking and ciphering materials.

The John Early Papers

The collection primarily contains information bearing on Randolph-Macon College and the Virginia Conference of the Methodist Church. Diaries cover 1807 to 1813. Correspondence beginning in 1800 includes family and other prominent Methodists (William McKendree and Leonidas Rosser). Methodist materials include General Conference information from 1830, 1836, 1840 and 1844, ordination certificates and sermon notes.

The Carroll LaHaye Collection primarily contains photographs, professional awards, memorabilia, and other materials documenting Carroll LaHaye's coaching career of women's basketball at Randolph-Macon College from the 1980s to 2020. The bulk of materials relate to the 1996 and 2005 basketball championship seasons. A few materials in the collection relate to LaHaye's coaching of women's lacrosse at R-MC, including a lacrosse ball signed by the 1982 team that played in the AIAW National Women's Lacrosse Tournament.

Flyers, posters, and professional awards related to LaHaye's basketball coaching seasons; includes some artwork/photo collages given to LaHaye by R-MC women's basketball team members. A large, battery-powered clock with pictures of women's basketball team members for each hour, possibly with a recorded message, is located loose with the collection boxes for LaHaye.

The Leroy S. Edwards Papers contains Civil War correspondence and other personal materials, primarily diaries, written by Edwards from his school days and after the war. Included in the collection is a diary from his son, Leroy Jr., spanning his years at Randolph-Macon College from 1893-1899.

Includes Civil War and family correspondence between Leroy S. Edwards and his brother, Landon "Lanny" Brame Edwards, and his father, Reverend John Ellis Edwards.

Diaries, 1857/1899 Box 1, Folder 26-30

Diaries kept by Leroy S. Edwards, with some entries written by his wife, Elizabeth Ferguson Edwards; many contain inserts, or loose materials. Subjects include the evacuation of Richmond in 1865 and Edwards' marriage in 1866. The 1865-1868 diary entries were written on a Roll Book for Petersburg Female College dated March 25, 1861. Also included is a diary from his son, Leroy Jr., during his time at Randolph-Macon College from 1893-1899.

A Collection of the Professional and Personal Papers of Paul Neff Garber: The Garber Collection 1899-1972

The Garber Papers include a plethora of materials ranging from Garber's birth to his death. These materials include personal items such as diaries and correspondences, professional items from his work as bishop in both Europe and the United States, lecture notes, research notes and typed scripts of sermons and lectures.
