Histories of the 201st National Guard Regiment. This regiment dates back to colonial times, beginning as Captain Morgan Morgan's company of militia, and has served with merit in nearly every war in which the United States has engaged. Specific details of this unit's deployment are included in an index.

Projects and posters regarding West Virginia flowers and trees, as well as African wildlife. Projects include fifteen collections of leaves and flowers, labeled and mounted on cardboard. These project boards also include the wild flower conservation pledge and a poem about roadside flowers. The posters, distributed by the East African Wild Life Society include the zebra, water buck, lion, buffalo, and black rhinoceros. The collection also includes the following miscellaneous items: a quadrangle map featuring the Mason Dixon Line from Maryland and the lands west of the line; a program from the Hewitt Presbyterian Church for its eightieth reunion (October 14, 1951); an "at home" card for Mrs. Charles Montgomery Babb, Miss Babb, and Miss Lulu Babb; a brochure featuring the 1933 autumn rate schedules for Lake Mohonk Mountain House and Mountain Rest House in Ulster County, New York; an 1897 article from the Daily New Dominion featuring articles about West Virginia University president Dr. J. H. Raymond and Hon. James H Stewart, the director of the West Virginia Experiment Station; and a 1978-1979 member directory for Internal City Management Association, a professional and educational association of appointed administrators in city and county governments.

The collection of the papers of a Morgantown coal miner and electrician focuses upon the development of coal mining technology. It includes operations and maintenance manuals, diagrams, and catalogs for a variety of mining equipment and parts. It also includes notes and material for Chipp's study of mining technology and electricity.

Two letters from Chestnut Run, near Burning Springs, Wirt Co. to Robert Caldweel and Edward Wright of Thompsonville, Washington Co., PA. Ruble inquires whether Caldwell and Wright desire continue drilling for oil on his land. He mentions it would be safe for them to visit, despite the Civil War, since there are many Pennsylvanians working there who move about freely.

A day book, 1873-1875, for a general store in Upshur County, West Virginia, operated by A. B. Clark. Records goods purchased, purchase price, date of purchase, and name of customer. Goods include food, clothing, and household items. This material is available on microfilm only.

T-Shirt designed and marketed by clothing retailer Abercrombie and Fitch. The shirt is bold orange in color and bears the phrase, 'It's all relative in West Virginia,' in blue in front of an outline of the state. The shirts made national news in March 2004 when West Virginia Governor Bob Wise wrote a letter to Abercrombie and Fitch demanding that they discontinue sales of the t-shirts. Wise criticized the company for depicting 'an unfounded, negative stereotype' of the state.

1821 travel journal of Abigail Farnsworth, mother of West Virginia's second Governor, Daniel D.T. Farnsworth. Documents travel from Staten Island, New York to Buckhannon in Lewis County, West Virginia.

Papers of Dr. Abner Osburn, a physician who practiced in Jefferson County, West Virginia in the late nineteenth century. The collection contains Civil War material, including a letter, currency, and a pass from Harpers Ferry. Other items include bonds for the purchase of slaves, programs from various collegiate events, certificates for the legal practice of medicine, correspondence, and other material. Abraham Johnson of Essex County, New Jersey, settled on Patterson Creek in Hampshire County, Virginia, in the mid-18th-century. Collection contains newspaper clippings, notes, and correspondence related to the genealogy of the Abraham Johnson family of Hampshire County, Virginia, as compiled by Edgar Johnson Davis and Annie Dent Davis of Greensboro, North Carolina. Also includes a copy of the Johnson family genealogy that Dent published in 1939 with handwritten notes.
