The G. Ridgley Loux papers contain records relating to commercial and residential development in Reston. The papers are from the Reston Community Association (RCA) Planning and Zoning Committee, Fairfax County Annual Plan Review Task Force, Reston Town Center Task Force, Fairfax Center Area Task Force, and other files on various issues relating to Reston projects.

This collection of papers documents the investment of $4 million from the Gulf Oil Corporation for the purpose of developing Reston, Virginia. All of the records are dated September 11, 1963. The collection is small and all 14 folders are contained within a single document case.

This collection consists of various documents, pamphlets, photographs, videos from Marcia E. McDevitt. The papers all relate to either Reston, Virginia, or Fairfax County, Virginia, and different programs and projects undertaken in the area. The collection is divided into seven series. The items are dated from 1972 to 2008 and contained in 16 boxes.

The Martha Pennino papers document Martha Pennino's career on Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. Within the collection there are photographs, information from different projects that Pennino worked on during her career, and memorabilia that she collected during and after her career. The collection is dated from the early 1960s to 2005.

The Nan Netherton Northern Virginia history collection contains Netherton's research and notes from her book "Reston: A New Town in the Old Dominion: A Pictorial History" (1989), as well as "Arlington County in Virginia : A Pictorial History" (1987) and "Fairfax County in Virginia : A Pictorial History," coauthored with Ross Netherton. Within the collection there are outlines for chapters, the copies of all the illustrations for the book, and the sources that Nan Netherton used during the writing process. The collection also contains oral histories, reports, brochures, photographs, executive budgets, and newsletters on historic sites in Northern Virginia.

The Northern Virginia Music Center at Reston collection contains correspondence, articles, photographs, and 56 audiotape reels related to music center. Photographs include both images of performances as well as publicity shots of the musicians.

The Atkins collection consists of approximately 60,000 images that extensively document American political and cultural history from the 1940s through the 1970s. Most of the images that document American political life date from the early 1960s through the mid-1970s when Atkins worked as a photographer for the Saturday Evening Post and then later as the personal photographer to President Richard M. Nixon. The bulk of the American cultural documentation is from Atkins' work in the 1950s and early 1960s on specific stories for the Saturday Evening Post, and these stories cover other areas of the United States, particularly the Southeast up through the Northeast coast. There are also a number of international sets of images from Korea, Africa, and India. The collection consists largely of 8x10" and l3x10" color and black and white prints and 35mm and 4"x5" black and white negatives. There are also a number of slides, contact sheets, and oversize mat prints. The collection also includes some correspondence and other documentation on Atkins' work and travel abroad.

The Patrick Kane papers include items related to Patrick Kane's work as a community advisor for planned communities, particularly Reston. The papers include correspondence, plans for the Dulles Corridor Task Force, Reston information and articles from various publications. The collection is organized into one series titled Subject Files and is dated from 1967 to 2002.

The Paul Grinberg Reston collection is comprised of one document case. The documents in the collection consist mostly of marketing and business reports on Reston from 1962 to 1968.

The Peter McCandless papers contain material relating to Reston, Virginia. The majority of the documents are from the Reston Land Corporation and include correspondence, awards and gifts given to Reston, project reports, newsclippings, press releases, marketing and promotional material.
