Mainly materials related to Weddell’s career as a diplomat and ambassador of the United States in Argentina and Spain. The papers include diaries/calendars, correspondence, financial records, scrapbooks, diplomatic files, organizational records, speeches, Virginia House, publications, miscellaneous, and Virginia Chase Steedman Weddell papers. The bulk of papers are correspondence which starts in 1883, but is especially heavy after 1927. The correspondence is both personal and professional and concern his diplomatic career and missions along with civic and philanthropic organizations. There is also documentation of the construction and maintenance of the Weddell’s Richmond home, Virginia House.

The American Political Items Collectors Collection (APIC) contains donations of scholarly material that relates to national political campaigns as well as American history dating from 1895 to 1988. This collection is comprised of presidential campaigning materials that stem from bumper stickers to voting ballots. Not only is it an extensive collection of presidential campaigns but it also houses historical magazines, newspapers, and many other manuscripts and books.

The correspondence of Clark family members, mainly that of Frank Wells Clark and Friend E. Clark. Frank Wells Clark was a student at West Virginia University and Harvard Law School and later established a law practice at New Martinsville. Friend E. Clark was a student at West Virginia University and Johns Hopkins University and later taught chemistry at State College, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia University. Included are the letters of Friend Clark when he traveled to Europe where in 1908 he was visiting professor at the University of Berlin. Cities and places he visited were Berlin, Florence, Gibraltar, Gottingen, Munich, Naples, Rome, Venice and Vienna. There is his professional correspondence as a West Virginia University chemistry professor which covers his recommendations to colleagues, businesses, and stockholders about technical matters. Also there are presentations on New Martinsville, Kanawha Valley, West Virginia and chemistry. Included is the correspondence of Mrs. Friend E. Clark in her capacity as an officer and member of the Crippled Children's Society containing fundraising letters, statistics, organizational bylaws, and constitutions.
