It's Wheeling Steel (Radio program)
Records of the "It's Wheeling Steel" radio program. Includes photographs (1930s-1940s, 5 in.), program scripts (1937-1944, 5 in.), clippings and magazines (1930s-1940s, 3 in., including Life Magazine of March 21, 1938 with article featuring the radio program), and scrapbooks containing clippings and photographs (1930s-1940s, 3 in.). Also includes original audio transcription discs of the program (1930s-1940s, 7 ft., 6 in.), and reel-to-reel/cassette preservation copies of the transcription discs (1936-1944, 34 ft., ca. 620 reels). Papers of Cloe Tyler Whittle Greene. Mostly diaries, 1855-1924, before and after her marriage to John Newport Greene. Also includes printed cards, photographs, verse, newspapers, scrapbooks, newspaper clippings, and prints of colonial and Civil War figures. Topics covered by the diaries include secession, Civil War, Reconstruction, travel, life in Norfolk, Virginia and marriage.

The bulk of the collection includes drafts, proofs, publicity material, photographs, correspondence, and related material from the writing career of Wilford Kale. Material is available for Hark Upon the Gale, Private Homes in Williamsburg, The Brafferton: The Education of the Indian, Goal to Goal: 100 Seasons of Football at William and Mary, and Parke Rouse's Jamestown. There is also correspondence and reports from the 275th and 300th anniversaries of the College of William and Mary, the 400th anniversary of Jamestown, and other events.

Frank, Willard C., Jr. (1936-2011)

This colleciton contains research and teaching material, notes, and fliers related to the professional career of Willard C. Frank, Jr., a professor of naval history at Old Dominion University. The bulk of the collection contains material related to Frank's involvement in professional and Old Dominion organizations, as well as Frank's personal research and papers on the navy during the Spanish Civil War. An oral history interview with Willard C. Frank, Jr. can be found on the Old Dominion University Libraries Digital Collections website.

This collection features material pertaining to William Alden (d. Nov. 16, 2018), Alden Self-Transit Systems Corporation, and the staRRcar (Self-Transport/Transit Road and Rail Car) which served as the model for West Virginia University's Personal Rapid Transit system (PRT). Formats include business materials, photographs, concept art, clippings, schematics and blueprints, artifacts, and audiovisual material.
