Primary Collecting Areas:
SCRC collects materials related to George Mason University, Northern Virginia, performing arts, transportation and planning, and photography. SCRC collects oral histories pertaining to Northern Virginia; the Federal Theatre Project; Reston, Virginia; and George Mason University's history. It currently conducts an active oral history program.
Description:
Special Collections Research Center (SCRC) is the unit within the University Libraries charged with acquiring, documenting, preserving, and providing access to primary research collections and documents. SCRC also manages the non-current and archival records of George Mason University, is responsible for the preservation and access to the University's theses and dissertations, and undertakes, through its Oral History program, the creation of audiovisual documentary resources. SCRC services, collections, and programs support the teaching and research activities of George Mason University and also serve the community at large.

East German poster collection film series

These posters document the cinematic heritage of the DDR and represent the films through both abstract works and interpretations of scenes from the films. The posters range in size from 21 x 57.5 cm to 84 x 59.5 cm. Although the posters date from 1947-1995, the majority fall between 1950 and 1990.

10. Sommer-Ausstellung

This poster has a green background and shows a dozen different sculptures of figures in various positions. The three central sculptures are busts and the remaining or full-body sculptures of males and females seated, laying down and standing. It is for the summer exhibition in Halle (June 24 - September 16, 1973).

Agrargeschichte und Volkskultur Mecklenburgs

This poster shows an illustration of a working man shoveling a dirt mound. The background of the poster is red, green and white. It is for an exhibition featuring artwork focusing on agricultural history and folk culture in Mecklenburg at the History Museum in Schwerin.

Ausstellung Junger Künstler des Bezirkes Karl-Marx-Stadt

This poster shows a rolled up scroll of paper decorated on one side with orange and red diagonal stripes. The white side of the paper is visible and a hand pointing is stamped on one corner. It is for an exhibition of young artists from Karl-Marx-Stadt at the Museum at the Theater (May 5 - July 1, 1973).
