Description:
The goal of Special Collections and University Archives is to preserve and make accessible collections and records of historical importance to the university, region, state, and nation. The department functions as a "learning lab" where students, faculty, and researchers can create and explore original ideas through engagement with our unique collections.

Godwin, Jr., Governor of Virginia; Whitehurst reelection brochures; and articles on Janie Whitehurst.

The box contains more pages from Scrapbook 4 as well as Scrapbook 5. The later scrapbook includes correspondence and invitations from presidents, vice-presidents, and first ladies -- Richard and Pat Nixon, Gerald Ford, George and Barbara Bush, Jimmy Carter, and Walter Mondale; Senator Bob Dole; and Virginia Governors Mills Godwin, Jr. and John Dalton. Also included are a 1977 Jimmy Carter Inauguration program, a 1978 Inauguration program for John Dalton, Governor of Virginia, and photos of John Dalton.
