Special Collections is located in Carol M. Newman Library at Virginia Tech. Special Collections includes manuscript collections, rare books, and the University Archives, as well as state, local and historical maps and photographs. Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University Postal Card Collection 0.5 Cubic Feet 1 box

This collection contains approximately 250 postcards. Dated cards range from 1906 through 1995, but many cards are not dated. Cards depict various subjects including campus views, campus buildings, football, Corps of Cadets, and Blacksburg views. Some of the postcards are postmarked and addressed to recipients, while some are blank.

Virginia Polytechnic Institute Seal Press 1.0 Cubic Feet 1 box

Virginia Polytechnic Institute (1944-1970)
This collection consists of a press, and two plates depicting the V.P.I. seal. The press is made of metal and has been painted black. The press consists of the body and the lever that presses the seal into desired page. On both sides of the press is a star design. The center of the star is a red circle, while the points are gold. Three gold lines come of off both sides of the star. There is a gold stripe that goes around the base of the press. Stamped on the bottom of the press in yellow is "MADE IN U.S.A." The design on the two seal plates are identical, except one is meant to indent the seal into the page, while the other will leave it embossed. The V.P.I. seal is in the center with "UT PROSIM" underneath it. Curving around the seal is text that says "VIRGINIA POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE." Both seal plates show this in reverse. On the back of the embossing plate a small screw is in the center.

The Virginia Tech Alumni Associaiton Cards, RG 29e, contains cards and rosters about Virginia Tech alumni from 1875 thru 1970. Items include a variety of biographical data, such as names, graduation years, degree program, addresses, names of spouses and children, military service, and more. Series are based on format and arrangement, and individuals may be identified in one or more series.
