Also 17 issues of Buckhannon and Clarksburg newspapers, 1917-1938; and the roto section of the Sunday Herald, Boston Mass., Aug 10, 1924 featuring reproductions of Civil War pictures in the Library of Congress, including several concerning WV. Some correspondence of Iva, Corrine, Allene, Mollie and Pearl Cutright, including a few letters from school friends, but mainly concerning D. A. R. activities. Items on the genealogy of the Coffman and Wolfe families, and notes on some early settlers in the vicinity of Buckhannon, including Carney, Westfall and Cutright families. Pamphlets on the 40th anniversary of Oklahoma City; Crossnore School, Crossnore, NC, and a handbook for the Exhibition Buildings of Williamsburg, VA, 1937.

One box of material including original and typescript copies of letters exchanged between Anna Kennedy and J.J. Davis for the period 1860-1862. Also included is material on the Chapin family, Davis and Steen family genealogy and Reed family Bible. Correspondents are J.J. Davis, Anna Kennedy, J.W. Davis, Phineas Chapin, Rev. Asa Brooks, and J. W. Wayland. John W. Davis' certificate of Admission to practice before the Supreme Court of West Virginia dated 1896. His sponsor was Melville Davisson Post and President of the Court was Homer Holt. Also, Davis' commission as a Notary Public dated 1898.

Deakins family
Includes records from several generations of the Deakins family of Montgomery County, Maryland and north central West Virginia. William (1742-1798) and Francis (1739-1804) Deakins, among the first generation, were active as land speculators after the American Revolution, applying their skills as surveyors to leverage acquisition of western lands. From 1778 their activities are documented through deeds, agreements, surveys, plats, surveyors' field books, court papers, and letters related to land purchased in Harrison, Monongalia, Preston, Randolph, Tucker, and Upshur counties. Other papers concern Leonard M. Deakins (1747-1824) and his descendants. Of special significance in the collection is the compass used by Francis Deakins to survey the "Deakins Line" in 1787-1788, a north-south line separating western Maryland from (West) Virginia.

Also includes a photostat negative of a typescript checklist of Pierpont manuscript material held at the Virginia State Library (now Library of Virginia) (1916). Correspondents include: Arthur I. Papers of Gary S. Weiner, documenting his personal and family history, and his collecting interests in the Lynch family and the history of Clarksburg and Harrison County, West Virginia. The Weiner family papers include letters written to Gary Weiner (ca. 1960-2005) and correspondence and printed materials about Clarksburg Iron and Steel Company (ca. 1980-1999), among other items. The Lynch family papers include correspondence between Gretchen and Lawrence Lynch (ca. 1905-1960), various notebooks and diaries (ca. 1910-1960), and Lynch family photographs (ca. 1860s-1939), among other items. Materials related to the history of Clarksburg and Harrison County include: correspondence to Clarksburg families, such as the Anderson/Freeland family (ca. 1880-1992); Fourco Glass Company's Clearlite Window Glass advertisements (1936-1937); and Washington Irving High School materials (1920s and 1960s), among other items.
