Papers, 1622-1936, of the Upshur family of the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Chiefly the genealogical correspondence and notes of Thomas Teackle Upshur (d. 1910) who was interested in the local history of Northampton and Accomack counties, Va. and in the genealogies of Eastern Shore families. Includes three manuscript volumes (indexed) called "Genealogies of the Kingdom of Accomack." The family papers of the Upshur family includes correspondence, 1786-1910, unpublished writings, accounts, and legal documents. The genealogical notes are arranged by family. The correspondence is arranged chronologically and the surnames of correspondents are given.

Papers, 1645-1917, of the Gardiner family, the Gilmer family, the family of St. George Tucker (1828-1863) and miscellaneous other people unrelated to the Tylers, Tuckers, Gilmers, or Gardiners.

The Cabell Family Papers consist of ca. 2,415 items (71 four-inch Hollinger boxes and one oversize box, filling ca. 25 linear feet of shelving), ca. 1731-1917, correspondence, diaries, account books, financial and legal papers, and other material. They are chiefly the papers of Joseph Carrington Cabell (1778-1856), planter, political leader, and statesman of Amherst (now Nelson) County, Virginia. There is a considerable quantity of material generated by other members of the Cabell family, including William Cabell, William D. Cabell, Nathaniel Francis Cabell, Mayo Cabell, Joseph L. Cabell, and Philip B. Cabell.

This collection primarily includes personal correspondence and legal and business papers of the Berkeley Family . Interfiled with these papers are extensive papers of the closely-related Noland family . The joined collection comprises about 20,000 items (ca. 85 Hollinger documents boxes on about 38 feet of shelving) dating between 1653 and 1930, with the heaviest concentration in the nineteenth century.

This collection contains documents relating to the Brafferton Estate as it impacted the College of William and Mary such as accounts, decrees, correspondence, biographical material on Robert Boyle, 20th century material on the search for information about the Brafferton Estate, and other material. The collection includes both original documents and copies of documents.

Historical notes compiled by J. Paul Hudson. Papers relate to colonial churches in Virginia. Primary focus is on the history of Bruton Parish Church and the church at Jamestown, Virginia and the people associated with them.

The Bushrod Washington Family Papers consist of documents gathered by the descendants of the first President of the United States, George Washington. The collection comprises an assortment of correspondence and legal documents documenting the lives and property ownership of several branches of the Washington family. The collection is organized into five series: Correspondence, Legal Documents, Social, Miscellaneous, and Indenture Notices (Land Deeds).
