Nelson County (Va.) Business Records, 1921-1924, is currently compromised of a contract book created by the Tobacco Growers Cooperative Association.

Nelson County (Va.) Court Records, 1838-1849. The collection contains two documents removed from Nelson County court records: a letter from R.M. Perkins to Colonel R.B. Patterson, 1839, concerning a debt; and a commissioner's report giving an account of the sale of two slaves and other property from the estate of Mildred Ware. The slaves sold were Patty, who was sold to Charles B. Hines, and Philip, who was sold to Elizabeth Mullons. The report was created in 1838 and received by the court in 1849.

Nelson County (Va.) Justice of the Peace Records, 1828-1937, are comprised of Justices' Execution Books and Witness Certificates.

Nelson County (Va.) Minute Books, 1876-1919, record all matters brought before the court on a daily basis when it was in session including but not limited to: civil and criminal suits, appointments of county officers, appointments of guardians and administrators, deed recordings, naturalization registrations, and court fees. Clerks would transfer information from minute books to appropriate order book, deed book, fiduciary book, etc.

Nelson County (Va.) Roll of Registered Voters, records the roll of registered voters in Nelson County. The volume is divided by precincts: Lovingston, Elmington, Buffalo Ridge, Gladstone, New Market, and within each precinct on the basis of color. Information found in the volume includes date of registration; number of registered voter; name of registered voter; date of birth; age; occupation; residence; length of residence in state, county, and precinct; whether exempt from poll tax; if naturalized, and if so, date of papers and by what court issued; if transferred from another precinct, and if so, when and to what precinct.

School Records, 1871-1876, circa, contain monthly and term reports of teachers working in Nelson County public schools, 1871-1876, circa; articles of agreement (contracts) between teachers and the Board of District School Trustees, contracts, 1871-1875, circa; and an annual report of the clerk of the Board of School Trustees for the school year ending 1872 Aug. 31.
