96 black and white photographs in an album that features some pre-filled stock pictures of safari animals and landscape scenes of Rhodesia and parts of Southern Africa. Most of the other photographs are labeled studio photos of individuals and native Rhodesian's depicted in church, school, and town settings.

Collection contains 57 handwritten letters from Richard Dale Woods to his girlfriend and later wife Sally Rose Collins Samson Woods from 1964-1967. During this time, Woods served as a Boiler Technician Petty Officer Second Class in the United States Navy on board the USS Holder (DD-819), a Gearing Class Destroyer, and the USS Magoffin (APA-199). Woods used his middle name, Dale, as his signature. The letters primarily concern Dale's desire to reunite with Sally and her young son, Rod (from her first marriage) while the two first live in Zanesville, Ohio, and then Gastonia, North Carolina.

Two page letter addressed to, "Brother" dated December 9, 1863. Contents are family affairs, updates on neighbors, and wishes that the Union troops will leave all lands unmolested as the battles in the state continue.

Collection of 22 black and white photographs of various African American individuals and families. Some of the photographs are labeled with first names and the date of the picture. Dates range from the 1950's through the 1970's. There is also a newspaper clipping of Annie Poindexter that was published in loving memory of her by her children, Lonnie and Marguerite. Poindexter passed July 3, 1959. It is supposed that the collection of photographs are from a Roanoke Estate.

Collection contains letter from Whig party politician Robert C. Winthrop to I. J. Cohen. In the letter, Winthrop asks for a private railroad car for his disabled wife. The collection also includes biographical information about Robert C. Winthrop. During his lifetime, Whinthrop was a lawyer, Congressman, and Senator.
