A 1936 Boy Scout diary belonging to Basil Roebuck and First and Second Class scout sheets, along with a membership card that belonged to Stephen Sanders from 1949-1953. Additionally there are Boy Scout pamphlets and a photograph of a mill.

Collection of letters to and from the Dowdy family from 1944-69. Daniel and Gladys Dowdy were residents of Eggleston, VA. Their letters to each other, written in 1944-45, discuss their life together, their plans for after the war, and their romance in explicit detail. Also includes letters from 1961-62 from the Dowdy children's German penpal, and letters from 1969 as son Harold began basic training in the US Army.

This collection contains correspondence compiled by Margie Meagher.The majority of the collection is composed of letters between Margie Meagher and David Allen, Bill Kaufman,Roger M. Fields, and Michael Price, Smitty, John Lynch, and J.W. Delaney. There are letters from a man named Edwin to his mother during his time in the Army and Navy Young Men's Christian Association, Imperial Recreation Club, and War Camp Community Service. This collection also contains correspondence between Mr. and Mrs. Robert Campbell; G. D. Camden and Madame Radcliff; Mr. and Mrs. Dom Tenney; Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Capron; and A. M. West and A. L. Harper.

Collection of 22 black and white photographs of various African American individuals and families. Some of the photographs are labeled with first names and the date of the picture. Dates range from the 1950's through the 1970's. There is also a newspaper clipping of Annie Poindexter that was published in loving memory of her by her children, Lonnie and Marguerite. Poindexter passed July 3, 1959. It is supposed that the collection of photographs are from a Roanoke Estate.

William and Mary first issue calendar book titled, Smoke Signals for the academic year 1953- 1954. Throughout the book are pictures of the William and Mary campus and students and various cartoons of William and Mary faculty, students, and staff. Each cartoon is signed, Vliet.

Correspondence from William (Billy) Preston to his sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Ralph Bennett, primarily mailed during World War II (1940-1945) with a few letters sent from 1946-1960. The collection includes 120 handwritten and typed letters and postcards; black and white photographs; a Western Union telegram; and newspaper clippings. It is arranged chronologically. The correspondence is detailed and legible, with description of U.S. Army experience in North America (training, duties, socializing, medical issues, traumatic injuries, supply needs, furloughs, and deployments). There is also much focus on Preston's romantic entanglements during the war.

Five letters from William M. Rome to his wife, Said from Nashville, Tennessee. Rome has traveled from New York in order to find lucrative work in Nashville. He writes about missing his wife and the comforts of home.

15 handwritten letters from Wyman Taylor, Jr. to his wife during the Korean War. Taylor was stationed in Korea with the Army. The correspondence is arranged chronologically. Taylor discusses his various duties, including equipment cleaning and serving as a rifleman for a blast team. The letters mainly detail Taylor's loneliness and desire for his wife. In August 1953, Taylor's daughter Dawn is born in Detroit. Topic include finances, budgetary matters, and paying off debts. Taylor also discusses material goods sent home: a Korean painting, a letter opener, and a Japanese "itching" (or etching). He also asks for supplies: pen refills, watch repair, buttons, and a small calendar to keep track of the days.
