Jackson (1895) asking Cooke for information about Stonewall Jackson for the republishing of U.A. Jackson's book; letter from Rev. Cooke to Mrs. H.B. Lee (1924) asking for information about an incident in the life of General Lee that was similar to the incident that took the life of Stonewall Jackson; letter from Rev. Cooke to Douglas Freeman (1929) about Freeman's review of 'The Tragic Era' by Claude Bowers; letter dated January 8 (no year) from Natta Lee Goldsborough about the incident between Edwin Lee and General Lee at Harpers Ferry.

Consists of miscellaneous correspondence related to the Lee Memorial Fund at Washington and Lee University in 1921. Includes newspaper clippings and pamphlets concerning the Confederacy, the United Daughters of the Confederacy, and primarily, the passing of a resolution naming Lincoln's birthday as a national holiday. Also includes correspondence with Douglas Southall Freeman and others.
