About 75 letters from Francis X. Ferg to his family during World War I. Majority of the correspondence is to his mother, Mrs. Frank Ferg of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Francis X. Ferg enlisted with the Marine Corps and served in the Marine Band during the war. Many of the letters originate from Paris Island, South Carolina. Included with the correspondence are some pamphlets from camp at Paris Island, two post cards featuring scenic Germany, a certificate for completion of an exam with a score of 97, and some newspaper clippings.
