Ms. Abernathy's personal files includes her notes on Carver Area Civic Improvement League (CACIL) meetings and drafts of speeches she has given. CACIL minutes, by-laws, and membership information such as membership applications and attendance records from meetings are also included. Information relating to Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority, Neighborhoods in Bloom, and the Carver-VCU partnership make up the bulk of the collection. There are also newspaper clippings and correspondence mostly from Ms. Abernathy to Carver residents and city officials. Most of the letters addressed to Ms. Abernathy relate to the Carver-VCU partnership.
